1) Prepare for the iPSLE oral exams next week by doing the following:
a) Contact your partner and engage each other in a conversation about what you did that day. Make an effort to speak for 30 seconds without going off topic and without saying "uh," "um," or any similar verbal crutch. Exchange roles and let your partner speak for 30 seconds. When it is your turn again, speak for 45 seconds then exchange roles. Finally, speak for 1 minute and then exchange roles. Remember that the emphasis is on content so elaborate by giving details and explaining. Anticipate your audience's questions and provide information.
b) You must do the process described above at least 3 times.
2) Prepare for the iPSLE written exams in English by doing the following during the 3 days you will be free next week. Remember that there are 4 days without classes and 1 of those days is your oral exam. The other 3 days are meant for you to spend reviewing for your written exams. The first exam on July 15 is English and will be a whole day exam composed of three parts. Part 1 – Composition
Part 2 – Grammar and Comprehension (80 points)
Part 3 – Listening (The recording is of a Singaporean reading in English but with a Singaporean accent, so please pay special attention!)
So, over the course of your free days next week, answer the following pages of your Grade 7 Compilation (G7C). Day 1 pp. 94-97 – Composition – 10 points
Day 2 pp. 98-111 – Comprehension – 11 points
Day 3 pp. 112-124 – My Pals in English exercises – 13 points
These will be checked and recorded as a 34 pt. Formative Work!
3) Research on a disabled person who acts as an inspiration for others. Write information about this inspiring person in your English notebook. Be ready to share about him/her when we return to class.
4) Read pp. 41-46 of G7C, Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan. Annotate the text and prepare for a check up quiz during the next session.
5) Write a composition answering the following questions:
a) What is your brokenness? How are you "disabled"? Describe your brokenness or disability in at least 4 sentences. Be sure to explain how you are "broken" or "disabled."
b) What has your brokenness taught you about yourself and/or about others (be specific about who the others are...family, friends, etc)? Explain in at least 2 sentences.
c) How can you, because of your imperfections, inspire others? Explain in at least 2 sentences.
E-mail your composition of at least 8 sentences to [email protected] by July 18, Friday.

I created new items for review in NoRedInk. Just look for the class code above if yo want to review using that site.
I also recommend using ReadTheory for reading comprehension activities. Here is the link: http://englishforeveryone.org/Topics/Reading-Comprehension.htm and here: http://www.readtheory.org/
Finally, here are the pointers (again).
