MAGIS students' Works

|
These are the writing assignments of the Magis Students. The students were given time to write and edit their works before posting these works. Comments were given by the partner and by the teacher.
Magis Student Work 1: Been There, Done That
Given the assignment to bring to school a picture of a memorable event, the MAGIS student wrote a 5-8 sentence autobiographical narrative paragraph (ANP) based on the photo. After writing Version 1.0, the paragraph was shown to a classmate in order for the writer to receive feedback of at least 2 questions from a reader/audience. Version 2.0 is a revision taking into account the questions of the reader/audience.
Feel free to comment or give feedback after each student's work.

MAGIS Student Work 2: Noun-Verb Story
Given the focus in the last few weeks on writing sentences while studying all about nouns, the MAGIS student worked with a partner to write a story composed of nouns and verbs only. All determiners and quantifiers were allowed. As a model work, an excerpt from Strider by Beverly Cleary when Leigh Botts wrote a similar noun-verb composition about his last race of the year was read aloud and shown to the class.
Magis Student Work 3: Kennings
Instead of writing a paragraph, this time the Magis students exercised their knowledge of nouns by writing at least eight (8) original kennings.
