Homework for the week of...
Friday, 15 August 2014
1) Shelfilipino photo and reflection paper, both the print copies and the e-mailed soft copies, are due on August 26, Tuesday. Please take note of the following guidelines:
a) Shelfilipino photo is a combination of a "selfie," a photo taken of yourself, and a "shelfie," a photo of you taken with your books. Since this is the Buwan ng Wika, we will celebrate by taking a picture of ourselves with our books which are written by Filipinos, written in Filipino, written about the Philippines, or published in the Philippines. These are the kinds of books which one would find in the Filipiniana section of the library. The photo should clearly present the student-owner of the books and the covers and titles of the books. The student is encouraged to be as creative as possible in his presentation of himself and his books.
b) The Shelfilipino paper is a reflection paper. It is a ten to twelve (10-12) sentence paragraph written by the student which will answer the following guide questions:
i) What are the kinds of Filipiniana books that you have in your home and which of these have you read?
ii) Which Filipiniana books did you read which were required by school? Would you have read them if you were not required to?
iii) What are you looking for in a Filipiniana book that you would want to read? iv) What do you like about the Filipiniana books you own?
v) What Filipiniana book do you intend to read this year and why are you looking forward to reading it?
2) Read and annotate the novel "The Shakespeare Stealer."
3) Read and annotate the story "My Brother's Peculiar Chicken" by Alejandro Roces found in pp. 84-89 of G7C and answer pp. 90-94. Answers will be discussed on Wednesday, August 20.
4) Prepare for a check up quiz on sequencing, outlining, and summarizing on Wednesday, August 20.
