CJ Carlos June 15, 2013 On the summer of ’09, I went on a tour of Paris. It was memorable because it was my first time to go there. First, we went to the castle (actually a church) of Notre Dame. It was actually like a rusted version of a palace, with lots of fancy decorations and art drawn by Michelangelo. We went to mass and bought some souvenirs for our relatives back in the Philippines. After that, we went to the Eiffel Tower for some picture-taking. I witnessed a police chase on the street (after that, I found out they did that every day because of illegal vendors) and the cops got some of the loot (actually replicas of the Eiffel Tower) and they started to give them out to some passers-by. I ran to the policeman and asked him for one. He said “Sure”-in French of course- and I got a 12 Euro tower for free (cheaper than Greenhills!)

Since I was 1 hour early, I dribbled around to pass time. When it was call time, I lined up with my team. After a whole day of football, it was time for the awarding. By luck (or pure skill), I was announced MVP for the 9 and under. I basked in glory on stage with my coach and the Head Organizer. After that, my team (Spain) was awarded Champion. When I got in my car, I immediately plumped down and fell into blissful unconsciousness.

Gabriel Apostol 7-Abad Santos Last summer, my family and I went to Hong Kong. It started on the second-to-the last week of summer vacation. We packed our bags and went to the airport very early in morning. When the plane finally did arrive, I did not have the necessary papers, so I did not get to go on the plane with my mother and other brothers. We had to pay an additional fee to get on the night plane. When we arrived in Hong Kong, my dad and I had to stay with a taxi driver who drove like there was no tomorrow. When we finally did arrive at our hotel, it was almost midnight. When we woke, I found that my brothers and mother already bought some clothes for me, which I wore. Then, we waited for our tour bus, and when it arrived, we went on board. We then toured around the city of Hong Kong. We stopped to take some pictures near the sea. We then went to a place where we buy jewellery. After doing that, we got to a building where we got free provisions. Soon, we stopped at our hotel after a long day and slept. On our second day, we got ready to go to Hong Kong Disneyland. We got there after stopping to pick other tourists. I rode this particular ride 6 times! Then, we left for home. On our last day, we went shopping. We went to take our last pictures, then we went to the airport and waited for 3 hours. When we got home, it was 11:30 PM. I went to my bed and slept. That was my most memorable vacation experience so far. Questions: do you think that you needed to pay the extra fee? How did you feel when you went to Hong Kong Disneyland and ride the same ride 6 again? |

The Recital COmm. Arts Seb paez Two months ago I had my First Solo Classical Guitar Recital at the Miriam Music Center. It was a very nervous yet exciting experience for me. The day started off with me and my family waking up quite early to get to the Recital Hall. When we got there, I practiced for 30 mins. With my guitar teacher since I was going to perform 11 pieces. We then had to fix the lighting on stage, adjust the volume of the speakers and check the sound system. Then my audience started to arrive. First my mom’s teacher friends came, then my cousins, then my grandparents, then finally my classmates. They said they all enjoyed my recital and were very proud of me! I look forward to my next solo recital! Questions from Josh:

MATTHEW Last October, we went to Sepang, Malaysia to watch the MotoGP motorcycle race. We took a plane to Kuala Lumpur and hired a taxi to take us to our hotel. We rested for the day. Waking up the next morning, we all felt very excited to go to the track. Before the race, we walked around the paddock walk and looked at the various stands of motorcycles and merchandise. We saw this wall with the picture of Marco Simoncelli. Marco died last year at Sepang due to tire oversteer. We signed our names on this memento and took a picture. Afterwards, we proceeded to the stands and watched the thrilling event. The race was full of exciting crashes and overtaking moves. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and prepared to leave for home the next day. Travelling home, we all felt bittersweet. Sepang will be missed, and we will surely return. PACO: What was your favourite part of the race? What was your favorite part of Sepang? Why did you feel bittersweet? |

Ivan Capuyan 7 - Bonifacio Last summer, my family and I went to Hong Kong for a family vacation. We waited in line for a ride at Hong Kong Disneyland for a short while. When we got to the ride, we sat down in the many shuttles positioned there. After another moment, the ride began to move. It got faster and faster and then it started going up and down. After about a minute, the ride stopped going up and down. And then it stopped moving. The people operating told us to unbuckle our seat belts and go down. We then got down and ate dinner in a nearby restaurant. |

Joshua Dabalos 7 – Bonifacio I was clueless of how my mom worked as a dentist until she gave my classmates and I a short lecture about it in our class. When I was studying in Learn and Play in Junior Nursery, there was a time when we had to discuss what “community helpers” are. I felt really lucky to have my mom as a guest speaker. She started to tell us how to take care of our teeth by keeping them clean and brushing them is a good example. She also told us that dentists specialize in treating mouth diseases and they treat them by using tools not normally found at home. That day, I learned a lot about how important my teeth are and the way dentists, like my mom, work. |

The story! 4 years ago, I received my 1st Holy Communion. First, I went to the church of Gesu. Next, I listened to a few sermons and watched the priest use a bubble gun. .After that, we were told to go to the front and wait in line to receive the host. As I waited in line, I recalled my training and hoped it would end quickly. When I arrived at the front of the line, the priest held up the host and said “The Body of Christ”, and I replied “Amen”. As I returned to my seat, I felt relieved that it was finally over. After praying, I sat down on my seat and talked to my classmate and recalled my experience. A few minutes after the mass, my parents took a lot of photos of me and my classmates outside the chapel. Finally, I returned home and told my brothers about the events that day and showed them several photos. The End Questions : Tell me more about the bubble gun. That was abrupt. Lorenzo Reyes 35 7- Abad Santos During times where my family is free from work or school, we like to go on vacation trips. Last year, one of our trips was to Singapore. For the duration of the trip, we stayed at a luxurious hotel called Marina Bay Sands. We went to many tourist spots like Infinity Pool at the top of Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, and my personal favorite Universal Studios. We took a bus to Sentosa where Universal Studios is located and we took pictures at the Universal Studios spinning globe logo. After entering the studios, we rode all the exciting and thrilling rides. My favorite ride was Jurassic Park: The Ride because you could get wet without you expecting it and there are detailed mechanical dinosaurs. After enjoying the rides, we took a lot of pictures near the breath-taking props. Then, we ate some delicious pepperoni pizza and pasta. We were still exhausted after eating so we took a bus back to our hotel. This was my favorite day in Singapore because before this experience, I haven't been able to go to Universal Studios in a long time and because I got to ride a lot of memorable rides and take some beautiful pictures. |

After scanning the contents of the dessert freezer, I spotted a colossal chocolate –chip oatmeal cookie. I decided to buy it and bring it back the resort we were staying in, Lighthouse. When we arrived at our room in the resort, I unwrapped the giant cookie. Then, my family and I measured the diameter of the cookies and it measured 8 inches. After that we took a couple of shots of the cookie and even compared it with a dinner plate. Finally, I shared the cookie with my sister and we ate it (though it took us all afternoon to finish it). 1. What pizza flavour did you order? 2. Last year, we had our classnight. My friends and I went swimming before setting up our sleeping bags. We bought food in the stalls that were set up and ate together. Then, we went to the covered courts to perform a dance presentation. After, we played sports and other fun games. We went ghost hunting with our teacher too. We were able to know each other better. It was memorable because it was my first class night.

Tyrael Domer 7-Abad Santos Last year, I had one of my most unforgettable events which also happened to be the highlight of Grade 5, The Class Night. When I came to school, I could not wait for the Class Night, but inside I was also nervous if it would be as awesome as the upper grade students said it would be, or would it be another boring event. After all of the subjects, my classmates from 5-Malacañang and I pushed all of our chairs outside so we can put our sleeping bags and other stuff inside. We then swam and took a bath in the AGS pool. Afterwards, we were all told to go to the Covered Courts to present our dance presentation and play games. After the event, we played basketball, ate some food, went ghost hunting, and basically, we just hung out with each other. At around 10:00 we were told to go inside the classroom and sleep, but the fun didn’t have to end there, we stayed up almost the entire night just talking with one another and telling spooky ghost stories. This event really made us close with each other because until now, the class of 5-Malacañang is still friends with one another. |

In the resort there is also a lot of fun stuff to do like cliff diving, diving into a pool called “The Infinity Pool” which is super deep, you can also get a massage and go to a spa. This day certainly got a spot in my “Unforgettable Events’ list. |

Jano Cadiz 7-Abad Santos On December 31, 2008, my family and I went to Boston, Massachusetts in the USA to celebrate New Years Eve. The first thing we did when we arrived was to sleep because of jetlag. When I woke up I only then noticed the snow. I immediately put on my fur coat, my gloves, my boots and my hat and quickly went outside to feel the snow. It was my first time to feel snow so when I felt it, I was really excited. I remember making snow angels, a snowman and had a snowball fight with my older brother. I felt like I was in heaven. But sadly all good things must come to a close, I had to come back in my relative’s house because I was getting a cold. That event was something I would never forget in a long time. |

I will always remember this day because i celebrated my own big party. |
